What is slumping glass?
This simple technique consists in the melting of glass (commonly sheet glass)
to a temperature of 1200 to 1300 C, where it becomes soft
enough to flow and respond to gravity and espouse the shape of a mold placed below the sheet.
Molds are commercially available in the shape of bowls and plates of various shapes and
dimensions.
Recently is has become fashionable to recycle bottles, simply slump them flat, and use them as cheese boards.
